Dracula's stolen ring

I read an article in the Omni magazine between 1990-1992 (i think), about a murder of an art dealer in New York. Apparently the only thing that was stolen was a ring from the art dealer's store. It was reportedly Vlad Tepish's family ring, and that it now probably graces the finger of a Columbian drug lord. Vlad was a Wallachian Prince, whom Dracula is based on. I would like to track down that article and reread it. I believe it was non fiction. Anyone with any recollection of this, please drop me a line. Do you find this valuable?
