OmniShrine Wiki

Omni MagazineWelcome to The Omni Magazine Shrine!
brought to you by inkblurt

An Introduction:

For years I've had a post at my blog, inkblurt, about Omni Magazine, something I used to love to read when I was growing up. Over those years, many people have added comments on that post, explaining particular stories or art they had enjoyed, asking if people remembered or had available particular issues or excerpts, and even offering back-issues for sale. Since then I nicknamed it the Omni Magazine Shrine.
But nobody ever answers those comments because it's not set up for discussion or sharing, just commenting. So I figured I'd make a community spot for people to share. Who knows, it could turn into something?
Do you have a personal remembrance about the magazine in general? A question? A topic to discuss? Maybe you have a favorite story, article or illustration you want to share with others or ask about? Go for it.

A housekeeping note: This is an experiment. I have no idea if having a wiki on this will work, but the more people who give it a shot, the better. At first I had it set so anonymous posters could contribute, without signing up to wetpaint, but the few anonymous comments and posts we got were mostly spam or annoyances, so now all you need is to get a WetPaint login (it's EASY!!)

Please be a good wiki citizen :-)

(PS: Please do NOT create new pages from this page -- i.e. don't click 'add new page' from this Home page. Please go to one of the main topic pages linked from the navigation in the top-left, and start new pages from those. Thank you!!)

I have the first issue of OMNI plus a stack of others. I always wondered if they were worth anything more than sentimental artifacts. I remember I would read them from cover to cover every word, they were a nice step up from comics for my thirsty brain.
